I was just up in Sitka, Alaska, and all the charter boats use the Line Counter (LC) Tekotas for salmon fishing, especially for shallow trolling. (Some boats use different reels without the line counter with their downriggers).

I just reeled in a few Kings on them and have no complaints.

I think it was the 600LC they use up there.

Excellent rockfish reel. Can wind up the spectra without worrying about leveling it with your thumb.

Upgrade the drags to greased Carbontex and it should last indefinitely with a good freshwater rinse after every use.

It's a good reel. What's the purpose?

Comparing them side by side with the Torium line, I went with the Torium. Only have the 14. Bought it for a jigstick I built that has the sweetspot at 15# test.

I don't remember why I went Torium, was a long time ago. But I have been happy with the Torium.

If they had a 400 size I would be interested in them.
