5 days of...

Tuggers...
Just got back from a 5 day on the Searcher...
no records were broken...
no new PBs...
just good clean fun!
and lots of tuggers!
I started the trip with two yellerfin tuna
falling prey to the Phamous Philur!!!
people who don't know about the Philur look at you like yer nuts when you scream out...PHILUR!!!!!
but eet must be done!...PHILUUUUR!
sooo cool!

all the tuna on this trip were in the 15 to 20 lb class....
no monsters, but lots of em...
I stuck to throwin artificials, as usual,
on the I got 3 blue fin and 2 yellerfin....
neck day...
we had it about as wide open as it could be on the yellertail..
all fish were in the 18-22lb range...
surface iron got me 10, wax wing got one, and the jojo got one...
there were a few missed fish on the iron, and two lost ones due to sealions...I landed twelve good yellers...
aint nuttin like huckin' iron at yellers! nuttin' better either!

the last two days were back offshore to hunt tuna...
we had a gerat third day...
and a soso fourth day...
in the end this was the counts for the trip...

not too bad...
I ended up taking home 11 YT, 9 YFT and 8 BFT (I donated one of the YT for dinner one night)the haul...

all fish were coaught on iron or plastics...only one BFT landed on live bait...
the best was the two YFT on the popper! that's the shizzle!

Cool! Stoked for ya!

I went on a 1.5 day on the searcher earlier in the season. Only one fish caught for the whole boat, a football sized bft. Long boat ride. I caught it, but still was not nearly has happy as you look in those pics.

Two months later, twice as far down and three more fishing days make a lot of difference.

Makes me want to try again, but I think I'll stick with the kayak for now.
