I have the exact same rod and reel combo. I use it for rockfishing and it is my all around inshore combo. It's lite enough to cast all day and strong enough to reel in a few small sharks last year. I think you'll be happy with it. I'm going to use it for some calicos this weekend.

That is an amazing deal.
I have the exact setup you want to create. This rod with a Lexa 300 HD, and it is my favorite setup to date. I have landed small yellowfin tuna, dorado, tons of calico and tons of bonito on this setup. Make sure to get the Power handle on your Lexa!
