2 days at Newport

Fished 6 hours on Saturday and 5 on Sunday.

NOT ONE FISH!
SKUNKED!

But I spent 11 hours paddling around on the blue pacific and had a great time with my friends.

I love fishing from my kayak!.....I will be back soon and change my luck.

What bait were you using? and what depth were you at? That's a lot of hours clock for 2 days on newport without a bite. You could've at least hook some mackerel for fun. But keep at it!!!

Nice to see a positive view on a skunk weekend. I get skunked all the time. But being out on the water is therapy all in itself.

What were you using for bait? Did you stay in the harbor?

My late father in law used to say: "Perfect day of fishing, nothing to clean!"

Water temps in Newport last weekend ranged from 58 near the mouth to 63 near the back bay. The cold snap definitely impacted the bass bite. Stick with it, they are there.
