camera rigging

i know a few on here are pretty savvy with setting up "spy cams" on lobster traps, down riggers (GA), and other places to watch fish and steak out areas.

I want to set up a GoPro on a shark bait and get the pick up on video but NOT have the camera attached to the line due to the possibilty of a break off. we get blacktips and blue fish running into the lines all the time and slice it in half.

My rods are on shore and the baits are anywhere from 100-400 yards out. deployed by kayak.

any ideas?

Just an idea, but maybe you could use a float on the camera so if it gets broke off the line it will just come to the surface where you could retrieve it.

On a second line, on a second rod and reel, clipped to the first line with a downrigger release clip
