Type in hotel circle, bunch of hotels and motels 3 min away from seaworld, ocean beach, point Lima, and about 10 min from WAP and downtown. Hope this helps. Awesome weather This week!

What is your budget? There is a best western in Bay Park,

http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwest...ertyCode=05605

close walk to MB, close drive to sea world. Two bar n grills, friendly to children, even babies. Other restuarants nearby as well. Try sushi ota

Then there is the Hilton.

i am not sure what your budget is, but my family and i had stayed at http://www.paradisepoint.com/ and it is conveint since it is very close to sea world. i think they may even have a car service to take you to sea world. it is close enough that you could even walk there. also there are several kayak shops close by since it is located in mission bay.
this location has a mini kitchen, but you should check with reservations on what they have available for you in terms of silverware, plates, and microwave. i don't remember exactly what they had. also it was nice that it is a bungle-loo type of setting with several pools for the kids to play in.

as far as shopping or eating there is http://www.simon.com/mall/default.aspx?ID=765 : fashion valley mall close by. we like going there to eat at king fishhouse. and there are lots of other eateries there too and target. (there is a target closer but it seems like a less desirable location.)

i have also stayed a the double tree in mission valley, but you'll have to drive over to sea world but it is not so far, but it is more suited for corporate use.

10 Minutes to WAP from mission valley?
It takes that long to get out of your hotel to the Highway... unless it is 2am and you drive like the guy in the other post...

We end up staying at the Dana on mission bay. Walking distance to Sea world and right on the water for easy access with the yaks.

Travelocity has the rooms for $99 a night this week. I may end up there this week myself with my daughter on spring break.

Dana X2- On the water. Try to get the newer side of the property. Right next to Sea World but also has a free shuttle.

Not that I live anywhere close to San Diego and can make any recommendations, but I stayed at the Hyatt Regency last weekend and it was nice. Pool with the water slides were fun for the kids. Very cool view of the bay too!
