NH 17th &18th

I took my wife out to Newport Harbor on our fleet of X13s. (Can a fleet consist of only 2 boats?) I caught 2 spotties (plus 3 mackerel and a perch on a sabiki I left out for smelt.) My wife was a getting frustrated with me catching and her not and the sun was going down, so I told her to try 5 more casts before we would head in. On her 4th cast she caught her first fish from a yak, a barely legal spotty!

Sunday we headed back out to NH. It was really bright and hot on the water during the afternoon and there was a ton of traffic. I thought everyone would be watching the games! We got skunked but the evening was brilliant!

Looks Nice out there. NPH is actually the closest & easiest harbor to me, but I have only fished it twice. I am sure that place is probably crawling with fish. Thanks for the report & pics.

Many a bass geek has been handed the skunk on legals at that harbor, it can be fickle. That sunset last night was a work of art!

I'm going to try and get out there again tomorrow night. The weather locally has been absolutely superb the fishing not so, at least not for me and my boys. I just chalk it up to winter fishing being slower. Boy I miss those summer days/nights! Last year when I first started fishing NPH (in the afternoons after work) it was early spring and I got skunked 4 trips straight before I started to actually catch a few. Last wednesday I was out there and all I caught was 7 macks (on the sabiki) gave them to a friend whose wife likes them. I work in Irvine and usually fish NPH during the week let me know if you go out during the week (open invite to anyone) would enjoy meeting up with other yak fishers out there.

Darren, I'd like to do an evening NPH, just have to pick the right evening as the weather is making a change this week.

Let me know when you guys want to go and I'll throw my yak on the car when I head to work. I've fished off the docks after work or even during long lunches many times, now that I have a yak I'm always looking for an excuse to get out there. Where do you normally launch?

You could have watched the games from the water on some of the big screens easily visible from the bay!!

Hey was it you that I met at M street?
If yes, than it was nice meeting you.
All I got were a few smelt and perch off
the dock. Way to rock it out there.
