Dana Pt. 4-3-2013

After several trips of culling through the sandbass and calico I finally found what I was looking for. She was in 50 ft. of water and ate a sardine. Not a huge fish but my PB at 29 inches and a little over 8 pounds. Needless to say, now I want one about twice that size.

PB 'but

Way to go Stephen! Once you get that first one out of the way, the rest come jumpin in the boat... well maybe not that easy, but it's fun to keep trying! Good job.

Nice one, they don't have to be huge to taste good.

8 lbs is a nice hali and will surely whet your appetite for a 12 and then 15, 20, 30....there is no stopping the quest! Nice job and thanks for sharing.

Congrats on a nice fish

I tried shallow last week for them with not much luck, I guess 50 feet is the ticket

Yea, it was a hand tied halibut drift rig with a treble hook trailer. I tryed it shallow a couple times and only got a short and some bass. I guess it's like they say: time on the water. Fish enough and you'll stumble over one eventually.
