Whale of a day kayaking off Point Loma

Hey guys, I've started writing up my kayak reports on my fishing blog. Not trying to spam anyone with links, and I don't benefit from views or likes or anything. Figured it was an easy way to share across multiple platforms. Hope you enjoy the report!

http://bencantrellfish.blogspot.com/...oint-loma.html

Totals for the day (all released):
calico bass x3
sheephead x7
kelp rockfish x1
gopher rockfish x1
rock wrasse x1
jacksmelt x1

Nice write up!! The greys are definitely around... we’ve had a ton of sightings up north of Santa Monica. I had one breach 20 feet in front of me last outing. Quite the perspective inducing experience

Great photos man! What kind of camera setup do you have if you don't mind me asking?

I like to think the whales are smart enough to see us and not send us flying...but I've never had one quite that close to me before. Way cool!

Olympus TG-5. It's waterproof, and I added a floating wrist strap to it, so I don't have to risk taking my phone out when I'm on the water.

Love that camera. Only point and shoot that captures raw images.
I just wish I wasn’t so single minded when I’m fishing. I put mine in the bucket and never pull it out

Thanks man! I was thinking of picking up an action camera so that I can post some content but that’s a pretty nice camera!
