75 pound son catches a 60 pound halibut off his Hobie Outback: Cook Inlet, AK

Well it's been a while so time for another update. Things have been rather slow, but in August I did manage to land a chinook making it 12 consecutive months I have landed a Chinook off my kayak here in Alaska! Even got an article n the State Newspaper over it: http://www.adn.com/article/20150820/...ery-month-year

But that's not the main story today! I took my son out halibut fishing over labor day weekend and he hammers a 60 pound halibut! Almost as big as he is but not quite. Gives him another goal to catch one as big as he is!

C'mon up and give it a try!!! heck, even a ten year old can do it!!! Let's fish!

Here's the video:

A few still pics:

An awesome trip with your son, an amazing catch by him, and even more amazing is you catching a chinook every month for 12 months. That takes grit! Congratulations!

What an impressive story. Being part of your son's day has got to be a great moment for you. Your kid will never forget this day, neither will you.
