For a kayak 8ft or 9ft for a live bait rig??

i like em somewhere as short as 7' and up to 8'

I like 7' because I can still clear my bow if the fish runs around the boat. That size is still manageable from a kayak and easier to stow below the hatch during surf landings than a longer rod.
