Question calico steup

Hey everyone. I was looking to pick up a nice calico setup for fishing the kelp when the YT or WSB are not biting.

Can anyone give me some recommendations or tips on what they like to use?

I already have my heavy gear covered, was looking to pick up something lighter for smaller game.

Thanks for the tips!!!

Teramar TMCX76M 10-20 with a Curado 200 or 300 size reel works for me.

I just picked up the new Shimano Curado 300EJ and matching it with a Teramar TMCX76MH rod. Perfect for throwing jigs and swimbaits and pulling the bass out of kelp. I put 50 lb PowerPro line with a 20 lb Fluorocarbon leader on the reel.

I personally do not like giving the calicos a chance to tangle me in the kelp! haha ... hell, a MC/ BH swimbait + a war head is like 4+ bucks!
I fish a 7'6" Medium Heavy Shimano Terramar and a Shimano Calcutta 400B with 20lbs mono.
or a 7' 8" custom Rainshadow 965 with a curado 200e7 with spectra.

The Curados are terrific though... I'm actually planning too buy another now that I'm going to fish the collegiate bass fishing tournaments.
