Cabrillo 1-16-21 (Point Fermin)

Water temp was high 58's.

Water was green most of the day, cleared up late in the day.

Weather was nice but the fishing was slow. It was still nice to be on the water buzzing around on the Solo.

I usually do pretty good off the point but couldn't get any bites. Moved a little north to the kelp and got a few calico's. Top smelt were all over the place.

Final count:

3 calicos (1 legal)
half a dozen top smelt

Congrats on getting out on the Solo Skiff. I also noticed that the water looked a little green in La Jolla yesterday in some areas more so outside the pier and over the deep canyon and was a little cleared later in the south kelp area. How are you enjoying the Solo Skiff.

Loading and unloading into the back of my truck is a real pain but once on the water it is a ton of fun.

I think you were one of the guys that asked me how I do it. I keep forgetting to shoot a short video of unloading and loading, using the set up I made. I promise on one of the next trips I'll try to shoot some footage and explain the set up. It saves me from having to do any heavy lifting or even removing the engine.

Yes, I think you installed a winch and ramp set up. Definitely interested in seeing how that works.

Loading at home is not a problem but after a long day fishing it can be a bear.
