A Special Fisherman, Ray.

Ray pulled out a lot of halibut from Salt Creek, Dana Point, CA.
Ray past away about a week ago. He was around 83yrs old and a retired
lawyer. Ray was a regular kayak fisherman in Dana Point who fished from
a sit inside real-deal ocean kayak. He traveled and kayaked many exotic beautiful places in the US and Mexico.
Ray battled cancer for many years. Even when he could no longer kayak, he would meet us at the end of our
sessions to talk and share our stories.

I never got to know Ray well until I suffered from cancer. Ray heard about
my troubles and approached me on the water to share his experiences. His advice and spirit kept me going.

I thank Ray from the bottom of my heart. He was an angel for all of us.

JB, please posted some pics of Ray!!

What a great tribute towards Ray, thank you Mr. JB and Yanni.

There is something better than catching a halibut...catching two! Jim

Thanks Yani. My dad and I would run into him on the water and exchange info. He seemed like as much of a landmark when we were out as the whistler was.
RIP

Nice tribute Mr. JB.

Ray was a cool Dude!

A true character and esoteric waterman, one of the good guys.

He used to keep an eye on things at BB and he got me out of a pinch one time.

Fuck cancer!

Happy Paddling Ray!
