Iron for Yellowtail, whats it look like?

Dpnt mean to be ignorant but yesterday had a very hard time making bait, and then getting any fish to look at that bait. I read folks here talking about throwing iron and have a few jigs myself but wondered what you guys think is the best iron for attracting yellowtail.

Other than one massive boil that lasted about a minute and a half I saw very little activity yesterday at LJ

If you do respond and have a pic or a link to what you are recommending thanks in advance

Sardine is often called Bird Sh*t or booger. It got green smeared on it. 99/100 times how it swims is more important than the color.

I use a Shimano Baitrunner 4500 B Spinning Reel on a 7 ft. rod to throw surface iron. It will never birds nest, and casts almost as far anything else.
-Its just plain easy.

The real advantage comes when a boil pops up and you only get 1 shot to fire it off. Point and shoot accurate, and No Birds Nest.

ditto.......and to make up for the baitrunners smaller spool, I use 50lb spectra.....you can get an extra 100 ft. of line over the larger diameter mono.

Note: A 7' spinning rod with a spectra mono combo is the personal preference of a select few people who prefer simplicity to capability.
