LJ 4/7 am no fish report

on the water about 6:15am. Lots of other kayakers, noticing alot more PA kayakers. Couldn't make bait anywhere, dropped the iron all the way out to the NW corner for no action. Took a long slow right turn back to the launch. Off the water by 11am. Conditions were fantastic, no wind, calm ocean, kelp was deep and a strong current, visibility about 6 to 8 ft down, water temp on my still cheesy FF was 58 degrees. Saw some bait schools on the way back in but they wouldn't touch my sabiki. More only tip is if you're going out in the next couple of days you might want to tip the sabiki with something enticing.
I did make a couple of jack smelt yesterday, are the jack smelt good for anything like fishing them like a live mack or use them as cut bait for rockfish?
