Gees that sucks
I remember that crap back when I surfed but didn’t think it happened with kayakers.
I for one thought it was cool seeing places I fish. I mean it’s not like there aren’t scores of videos of those places already on YouTube.
Your videos are good keep them up.

New Video: Catch and Cook- Deep Fried Whole Sculpin &Rockfish

I could not have said it better myself. I wish I did. If you get threatened by another lurker, I have a few waypoints I could throw in. I’ve fished the area for 10 years (minimum 40 weekends a year) and I have a few friends that I fish with and have been respectful to not post the bites as they happen. I don’t even tell them sometimes because of this nonsense.

If they feel their next actions should be to try and keep a fishery private and send annoying PM’s, I ask them to think again. there are no new spots and fish are not there all of the time. One of Southern California staples is to drive the coast and see the ocean. Fishermen look at it and put a plan in place to wet a line. Lots of the guys wind up only shore fishing, buy a boat or get on a party boat.

There are 23 miles of beach in Malibu. Most kayakers don’t fish more than 1/2 mile offshore or from launch and are really happy catching and releasing short calicos, sand bass and miscellaneous shallow water rockfish. I personally travel 1-3 miles offshore on a regular. Let’s have some perspective!

I would like to remind These people (wHo feel it is their right to harass) of a board that was ignored and failed because of this type of nonsense permeated the board and pm’s. That board had great content from some of the original KayakFisherman in the area. The bashIng and unnecessary noise closed down that board.

Thanks dude. It's a mix of things... and a bit of a testament to the fact that you don't need *the* nicest stuff to make decent looking photos/videos.
I have three different cameras for three different applications...

A friend gave me an old GoPro Hero 4 and I use it on everything that needs to be shot stationary in the kayak or underwater.

I also have an olympus TG-5 Tough. Can't recommend these enough, and there's a TG-6 now. I originally got it because it's the only waterproof point and shoot that takes RAW images. I use it for any shots you see that are slow motion, as it shoots 120fps without too much loss. TBH if I had to only have one camera to get *all* of that done, it would be this one. it's crazy powerful and versatile for what it does.

Everything else, especially in the kitchen is shot on a nikon DX crop sensor (d7100) body with a few different lenses. My two most used are a 35mm 1.8 and a 100mm 2.8 macro from Tokina. Those lenses are insanely good for the price and are great for portrait angles or really sharp macro like this https://flic.kr/p/noTgT5

I am sorry this happened to you.

I would hope the person that did this would think about the possible reactions someone would have, including themselves if they stumbled upon someone messing with their vehicle. It might turn into a very serious situation.

Note that not everyone on this board is a jerk or would even think of doing something like this.

I enjoyed the video. I say party on!
