Trolling?

When paddling out to your destination, or just putsing in the harbor (Newport), do you guys troll? If so, lipped Rapala or perhaps a bass spinning lure? Thanks.

Personally, I find it difficult to catch a fish without a line in the water. Good luck on whichever way you decide to go.

Since the poster asked about cruising a harbor and pulling an artificial......

Yes, many guys will troll a lure or a swim bait.

A big ass rapala works great on almost any fish.

When relocating a significant distance I pull something..

Have fun.

My buddy almost always trolls a 3 in plastic w 1/4 oz leadhead no matter where we go. He's always catchin something on it. Typically smaller fish but it seems to work well. Rapalas probably work better I would assume.

spinner baits work well trolling in the harbor as well as swimbaits. I prefer to troll deep diving plugs, like Fat Free Shad or Crystal Minnows. Bass and halibut love em.
