Another interesting pictorial fishing report. I am glad to see that they were releasing the billfish, but surprised to see that they are taking them out of the water for the Hero shot. On the East coast, it is a Federal law that billfish intended for release are not removed from the water. The slime removal compromises their immune system and ramjet breathers need to be moving to get oxygen. All the time onboard the vessel causes hypoxemia. Fish might swim away looking ok, but who knows how mentally retarded the fish became from the oxygen starvation? Billfish destinations like Coast Rica and Guatemala have strict rules against removal, I am surprised Mexico is not protecting this resource? In Florida, there are plenty of Charter boats breaking the rules, maybe the same for Mexico? The conservation photo is when the passenger leans over the side of the boat to get a photo with the billfish still in the water.

Congratulations on getting a Roosterfish. Looks like you had a good time -- Thanks.

Thank you all.

Besides the heat, it was great.

On a side note, I am on a standby list to go to Cedros Island with the Stoked On Fishing crew.

However, if no room, I am seriously thinking of going with the Kayaking group.

The ultimate kayak fishing trip for me so far.

Enjoyed this report quite a bit. Congrats on the marlin and the Rooster. Any out of the norm catches by other anglers?

on a side note, I went down to east cape a number of years ago and haven't been back since. I loved it. This stoked the fire for me to get back down there, thanks.

Thanks.

I don't recall hearing of unusual catch.

Since I did not take pictures, I had needlefish and a puffer fish (first for me) with live bait, fishing for roosterfish.

It seems there was wahoo caught, but not sure.

October seems the time for wahoo.

Good Read

As usual, another good read (and I'm sure it took awhile to put together)!

These reports take anywhere from 8-24 hrs. to prepare.

Hunt and peck typing and getting the IMG code for the pictures to post.

One of my hated classes in college was composition. Since I have lived the event, it is easier to write about it.

Thanks to the people who made the spelling correction possible.

I am glad to post them, since they are liked.
