La jolla launch

I will be down next week from Portland and I remember reading the launch was out....has it been repaired?
Also is the parking near the launch still free? ( a few years ago there was talk of putting in parking meters)

Thanks for the info

Bring your wheels. I talked with some dudes working and its gonna be out of service for a long time.

Yea it's closed but with wheels it's easy access from the next street over (Vallecitos) and parking is always easy to find early morning from my experience. I parked on the street Saturday so don't know about the lot. Good luck!

Thursday street sweeping signs can nail you with a parking ticket. I wonder if the street sweeper even goes by on these days...Jim

Do you need to have beach wheels? How much easier does it make it?

Beach wheels will help at the end but you could probably drag that part just fine. Depends on the tide too. Otherwise the long commute is on concrete.
