Snuck out of work early on account of the beautiful conditions. Launched around 4:00 into mild surf and a mild breeze. Bait was very tough to make. Stuff popping on the surface but no takers on the sabiki. Finally rounded up a couple spanish and went to the same spot as yesterday. Promptly lost my bait on the bottom so headed back tot the kelp to look for more. Ran into Ken, hadn't seen him in a while. Got some little spanish and went back out deeper. Immediately caught a short ling.Sun was going down and after the next bait hung up, I called it an evening. Got to get my lights replaced so I can feel comfortable into the deep darkness.

bummer about the loss Sunday! darn you gotta hate not getting a visual on him!
