too bad I left the long lens in the truck or I'd have at least "caught" something. Nothing for me out there today.

Long lens would have been nice but the audio would have been priceless. Had no plans of keeping anything today but after my altercation with the tuff guy I had quite a mixture of DNA on my deck so I chose to keep him, although I am not sure 2 ripped gills and a lead head and a chunk of gulp in his throat would be enough to kill a halibut.

Only time I've been snapped on by a halibut was when I gilled a short and my fingers were long enough to come through the mouth. Definitely learned my lesson. Those fish have some power in that region.
