the most important thing is just to get the kid on some fish so he will enjoy it and want to go back out again! Looks like the am boat has been bottom fishing and the pm boat has been doing some kelp bed fishing as well as bottom fishing. I would be ready to fish either.


When they are bottom fishing most of the rockfish are pretty tiny so you will not feel many bites unless you are fishing spectra.

When they are fishing the kelp flylining the live bait they have on the boat works fine... Soft plastics on the bass gear also work nicely from swimbaits to slugs.
