nice catch. thats exactly what happened to my son and i last sunday. we went there to scope the place out for the tourney and it was our first time fishing mb. i ended up catching my first halibut, a 27", and same thing, no gaff or game clip and i had to paddle to shore to land it. i even forgot to bring a cooler, so we just took a quick photo and released it.
