Jarrod & i were just talking during a run to SD Bay how I am still temped to do a Abalone veneer inlay on a pressed up collage of exotic hardwoods that comes out looking akin to a multiple stringer Takayama..
I wonder if its possible to lay a strip of actual fish skin and keep some iridescent patterns that hold up to the finish coat like a skin stretched mount?

People make fishing rods wrapped with carp skin and snake skin i dont see why not doing it on the boards.
