Those squid can change color from solid red to solid white and everywhere in between. I've caught some in baja that have flashed red to white and then back again at boatside, not even the slightest combination of colors between flashes. Maybe the all white is their "oh @#$%" color

Really cool animals, too bad they eat all the fish
