You Guys Missed Out - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

Hey everyone, me and yellowtailslayer went out to mission bay to do some yak fishing.We thought it would be miserable because they only had huge sardines.So we went to the jetti and threw some plastics we had some missed bites and a couple fish.Bryant got a spotty and a calico but both were small, and i got a small sandy.So we went to our special "x" spot in the basin and put out a fly lined dine while we threw the plastics.We kept getting slammed on the diens but couldn't get a good hook set. So finally i put a dien on my saltiest 20 and let it swim and my reel screamed so to make sure we got it this time I let Bryant set the hook.So he got the perfect hook set and i fought it in. We got a good gaff hit and it was about 26". I ended up dropping my phone in the water at the dock so i don't have pictures of the basses, but i do have one of the hali i just have to get my new phone today to git it on my comp. Oh and i want to give a special thanks to this nice sumaritan/fisherman who stopped in the jetti to give us some more bait, I'm not sure if he has an account on here but if you are the one that gave bait on fri. to a teen in a blue yak and a kid in a red one, friend me

very cool, some serious teamwork in hookset/landing

Nice fish, congrats guys!!!!

Be careful in MB jetties. During extreme tide swings, the current can be ripping out of the bay. It can be tough to paddle back in.
