anyone wanna go out this/next week looking for bait and birds? Also, has anyone gotten any at night??? Lastly, are they only at the flats or could you launch in laguna/newport area and look for action.

I was thinking about a Friday AM HB launch.........not as motivated after this morning's report, but still may as I hate chasing yesterday's fish anyway.

The expression " the Cats out of the bag" referring to the White Sea Bass bite that was off Huntington/ Newport art. reefs-- brought dozens of boats out this morning with hopes of a giant white sea bass-- but alas the bite seems to have shut off or maybe all the crowds scared them away- ? " I didn't see one rod bent this morning"-- but the party boats from far and wide converged on the schools of barracudas that were found 2, 2-1/2 miles outside the Huntington Beach pier ( the Flats) limits or near limits for most of the boat there this morning-- most of them legal sized--

Surf is looking small, but I am leaning toward tomorrow after work, 6:30 launching from N st and heading CDM and Crystal cove
