yO eAST cOUNTY!

Has anyone ever camped here? Kumeyaay Lake Campground Mission Trails?

http://www.mtrp.org/campground

I am looking at this as a base camp for a Friday-Sunday Group event in June. Not a fan of Campland, 4 sites for 2 nights there was over $1000 and there would be extra vehicle charges and extra people charges on top of that.

I live in the navy housing right above it. It looks ok if you don't mind "camping" in the city. But yes its a straight shot to LJ on the 52. Its about 15 min or so. But its clean out there.

I have never seen a Google Map aerial shot of an empty SoCal campground before

Funny - lived here all my life and never knew it was there. But then, never had a reason to seek out tent camping sites either.
I actually flew over it once while in the bombardiers seat of a B-17...

I dug a little deeper. The campground is closed Mon-Thur unless Monday is a holiday.

That would explain a deserted SoCal campground.
