LJ 5/25

Well haven't done one of these in a long while.

Surf walk and launch 0500
Didn't waste time making bait
3 YT on the jig 0645 -0715
1 harvested, 2 sent back to fight another day.
Calicos on the chew lost count 20-30 10-15"ish
Landing tide on the way up waves crashing on the shore, hopped out in thigh deep water. 0800

Have fun boys

There's two major strategies in Japan with jigs, slow pitch and high pitch.

As easy as it comes is likely high pitch.

Not that any of this matters, because if you're not fishing with braid, you're wasting the effort.

Learn your tackle, and you will be able to target fish effectively, the rest come with putting in time. Hell, even just putting in the time with donated tackle is enough.

So little detail. Like depth, what kind of jig ( top water or yo-yo ) location. The ocean and la Jolla doesn't count. Fish move around so you're not giving away the secret spot. You're just giving a complete report. Not just bragging.

caught up with you on your way back in

I was just heading out. Way to make short work of them. Thanks for openly sharing all your secrets. Jig, color, location, etc. etc.... I did manage to break the skunk on a juvenile White Sea bass. Either questionably legal, or 1" short using my measuring tape on paddle. None the less, released to live another day. Again congrats, and thanks. By the way, you had mentioned I was on the border of the State Marine Reserve when I ran into you. I guess making bad in such an area is prohibited? Happy Memorial Day everyone. Hope everyone remained safe.

my man sorry didn't realize i need to give you a pin drop of the location. I gave a report that i caught some fish. Don't be salty. Same style of report I give every time. It was the first time being out in a very long time due to having a new baby (our first). I have spent hours and hour learning how to fish LJ I have hung more YT, WSB, halibut and bass then i can remember.

But here you go.

Fish caught with light to no wind, YT in 110' bass all over.

Jig slow pitch color blue and pink

reel tranx 400 line 50# maxcuatro leader 40# seaguar fluoro premier

rod Phenix black diamond 809H

Next time i will include more information a pin drop and a video.

Handheld enough

Read The Post

He said he was using a jig-stick so a logical guess would be he was using a surface iron..
