Full moon

9/5-9/11. (the images are clickables). One of the most respected panga captains in Baja told me that the wsb spawn and bite more aggressively during the full moon so I went down to test it out.......nothing but bonies. Real fishy pre-dawn and then it would die with the sunrise. Beautiful weather so hot I was slipping into the water to cool off.
I explored the other side of San Quintin Bay (pic #1) and found a small fishing village with a protected launch area, the swell was 4-6 that day and not a breaker there. It's a 3 mile paddle to Isla San Martin (in the distance) for a possible over nighter....next summer. Incredible scenery with the red steam vents, estuary and volcanoes (#3).
#2...birds working the ramp area at Campo Costa Rica and #4 the clams I dug there.
From the ramp and with the afternoon low tide, I was able to drive on the beach some 20 miles south from one beautiful virgin cove (there are no inhabitants along this stretch) to the next collecting clams and mussels along the way.
