Anybody else Read Tim Niemier's (Ocean Kayaks) Memoir?

I'd been eyeing this book for a little while...

I think I read a Kayak Fishing Magazine article about him, and was transfixed by the story of him standing on PCH in Malibu in the 70s, having just gotten off the water with what was his original fiberglass prototype for the Scupper, and selling it to someone who asked.

I'm still pretty green on the sport as well as the industry, so I may be offering information to those who already have it, but I'm a little over halfway through this book and loving it. Dude's a legend in my eyes.

It's a pretty fascinating, envy-inducing read on how he grew up on Topanga Cyn Blvd, exploring the Malibu ocean in the late 60s and early 70s, and how he basically helped create the entire sport and industry we obsess over so much. As someone who almost exclusively reads Fiction, my imagination has been lit up by this book, feeling even more stoke to get out and explore the coast I call home.

Highly recommended read if you haven't.
