Yeah I'd say it's a Bigeye. It's harder to tell with smaller ones, but it definitely looks like one. The size of the eye was the first thing I noticed but also bigeyes also have this mark or indention over the gills that common threshers do not have and that shark has that marking in both pics.

Those drawings are of adults and they look more alike when small but just from his pics I'd say there is a pretty fair chance it is a bigeye T.
At any rate I emailed same of my shark buddies who study these things and I'll see what they think.
