A blessing and a curse - Black Seabass (BSB), caught recently in LaJolla's kelp. At first I taught a soupfin shark was towing me around. The rod was screaming like a little girl. When it came to color, the sheer size was overwhelming - such a beautiful monster!
Tried but couldn't get my hook back, since it was diving and splashing. After couple of minutes of recovery time, it left to live (hopefully) many more years and
scare some divers. Hard to estimate the weight, but comparing to
this story, it looked the same size.
Good to know these awesome giants are still with us.
