At what point does "Investigative Services Branch" police state mentality become more destructive than a doofus allededly "poaching" an abalone in some over-regulated park area?

Seriously, everyone is guilty of something. Can't they just run their facial recognition software and drone his ass, or send out a park service SWAT team to smash down his door, raid his house, body-slam and handcuff him?

If she busts the guy while on duty carrying an abalone out of the park with a dopey expression on his face, give him an f'ing ticket and move on. Like a $50 parking ticket for being stupid. Why make a public witch hunt out of it? The "GET 'EM" mentality of cop wannabees who want to bust people often gets to be too much. Either that, or the story is manufactured as fake news to threaten people in advance of violating any regulations. Management by intimidation. Actual guilt not necessary. Truthfulness is not important.

No doubt, there are ever more regulations coming down the tubes at us. Especially in California. More regulations and more enforcers who want to expand their jobs and authority. So be afraid. It's the law, and you know what happens now if you don't grovel and obey the nice officers.

BTW, how big was the abalone?

Whatever
