I agree with all of that and in fact i think I said all of that in fewer words but the ineffectiveness in deeper water is a problem for me. The unit i had was straight DSI so I didn't have the luxury of switching back and forth. If my next unit comes with DSI along with standard sonar then so be it but I won't shop for it.
