tape

"Jim are those two stripes strips of reflective tape?"

Yes that is DOT or compiscuity tape. It is the type of tape used on Buses and
big-rig trailers. It is sold at marine and auto stores...The best stuff is made by 3M but it's also the most expensive. Promar sells it in 6' rolls that alternate from red to silver every one foot. It's simple to cut and attach so you can make a custom design that will make it easy to find and identify your gear. I often add a small bit of reflective tape to the top of the light stick as in the previous post photo.

IMHO I feel it’s the best way to help other boaters avoid your gear other than lighting it. The DFW would have been better served with this reg. change next year rather than adding an ID to our floats.
