I treat everyone, as if they don't know what they are doing and can't see me. That said if the coast guard is ever looking for me it will be easier for them to find me with the green topsides as long as the things upright, and I do think bright colored Kayaks can aid in search in rescue type operations, as they are simply easier for planes and choppers to see.
