If you learn to paddle correctly you shouldn't feel much in your shoulders. I paddled for 8 miles when I first started and felt it at the end of the day because I used my shoulders and wrist too much on forcing the paddling. Then I learned how to properly paddle and it's made a world of difference.

I also have rotator cuff issues in both shoulder and after learning how to paddle the right way they have felt better.
