Right on. Small halibut, especially good for light line fishing small dorado.

With smallish thin profile wiggly fish the two hooks give you more holding power especially if your gaffing over their back, but when the fish get larger like ten pounds you want a bigger gap to get more bite.

Another thing to keep in mind with the small gap the hooks are not sinking in as deep. I like a fairly large gap single hook for some fish because if you hit them right it really injures and can actually immobilize them.
