Carpinteria beach, if you want to camp right on the beach you need to reserve way ahead. However, there are a bunch of sites that are in the back rows and in the grass area you can probably still get.

Great fishing from the beach with usually mild surf. Hiking trail along the coast, visit the sea lion rookery on the south end of the campground. Perfect family place.
