LJ 10/24

Launched at 7:30, super high tide with tight little waves that were hard to time. Bait wasn't easy, but much easier than it has been all summer. Made 7 spanish in an hour n headed out. I wasn't even to the corner and had not dropped a bait back and picked up a dog. Damn thing followed me for at least 45 minutes. I didn't put a bait out the whole time, just paddled. Saw a couple humpback whales. Finally a sports boat rolled n the dog headed to them. Trolled n trolled, never saw a boil or working birds. Got board n dropped an iron to the bottom. First drop got a nice red. Current really started flowing down n in. In front of the condo I got a hit from the right kind. Nice 15 lb or so YT in the hatch. Caught a quality calico. Missed 2 quick pick up n drops. CnR-ed a little fire cracker. Fun day. Mike

Thanks for the report. I haven't seen the jewel look that calm in the last 3 trips...looked like a nice relaxing day.

Josh, always good getting out there with you. LJ is a great place to fish, even if you don't catch. But I know you have limited time and its haul down here. Gotta say, that freight traning humpback was the coolest thing Ive seen this year. Mike
