I vowed to not contribute to forums ever again but most on this forum seem to be good guys so I decided I've been lurking here long enough and thought I'd better contribute SOMETHING. My outings pale compared to others posted here but if they help a guy with a couple hours catch a few more bay bass before sunset, it's good. Hopefully this works...

Yesterday, launched at Pt Fermin about 6:30 to glassy conditions and small surf. Threw a variety of stuff for not much. I had my best luck fishing a freshwater plastic crawfish bait on a sled head real slow. That yielded a number of small bass and one decent one. Had no luck with swim baits. Many, many short bites today and I had a number of fish come unbuttoned early. Still a fun morning in really nice conditions. Attachment 16630

That's a nice looking bass you caught. The background on your picture looks like a good spot. Thanks for sharing and welcome aboard BWE.

Thanks for posting n showing there's more to Cali yak fishing than LJ. Did you stop posting cause of trolls/fools trashing on you? There's not much of that here, thankfully. Mike

Thanks for the bass report. We don't see enough of them around here.

Yea, Mike, I was getting a ton of attitude on the other forum (not b.d., btw) maybe for not posting big enough or the right species of fish.?. Guys were a little too aggro for me and it took the fun out of that real quick. 'Nuff said.

I spend most of my time at Alamitos Bay, Long Beach Harbor, Pt. Fermin targeting the basses with lighter tackle. I'm very willing to share info on these spots with anyone who cares. The reports on here are truly hardcore. Fish-of-a-lifetime over and over again, it seems. It takes mad skills to find, hook and land these beasts and I'm in awe when I read about it. I hope to post one of those myself some day. Until then...
