The new A.T.A.K

This boat is definitely going to stit things up. In my opinion it's by far the coolest bassn yak that's hit the market. Can't wait to add one of these to the arsenal.

So, $2100 with rudder. How are they in open water like Baja or La Jolla, love that seat wish it was in my Thresher. What is the seat travel 4-6-8 or more inches. Looks like delivery by June. Should be a winner for the flats. Josh thanks for posting.

But you still ride a HOBIE? Some of us have both. Different strokes.

I understand paying extra for the hobie...the gearing system and the peddles. Are you guys sponsored by WS or something? easyday has a WS logo as his avatar. I wouldn't pay that much for a paddle kayak, call me crazy, but you're getting in the range of a center console price.

Yes, I am a pro staffer with Wildy, but like bob said different strokes. I for one love this boat and this is going to kill in the flats and it sheds wind like no kayak I've seen. Some people pay 3500 for a hobie. It's just what you are Into. I for one prefer to paddle over pedal. I also can't hang a center console on the wall in the garage of my apartment.:D some of the accessories like the 3D seat are really awesome. A LOT of time and thought was put into this boat. Can't wait to see what else they come up with. Not to mention the deck has a 20x16 walkable area.

No I am not connected with Hobie I have owned 4-5 of them, and I owned 3 Wilderness system yaks and am not connected with them....... They are all nice yaks but are used in different senarios as we get older our needs and strengths change. At 66 I fish Baja as often as I can, over 100 days last year, maybe more this year. Different strokes............

I'll bite.... Hobie boats are priced a little steep dude, and the ATAK doesn't compare in cost to a center console... At all. I'll always be a paddler for the same reason I only BBQ with charcoal... Because that's how it's supposed to be. Strokes is right Bob.

Josh I started a thread just under yours asking about this low pro rig, the video WS put out for it is pretty informative if you haven't seen it. The seat prop is pretty genius and those guys standing on it don't look like they were fighting for their balance either. I believe I'll be testing one of these out soon.

I paid under $4k for my center console. It can be done. Craigslist is your friend. Not getting into the kayak vs. boater thing though. I am and will always be a kayaker. I just don't see a non-peddle kayak being so expensive. Why? You can stand on lots of kayaks no problem....as long as your somewhat agile =)
