PA 14 Lift and Swivel

2 Attachment(s)
Hi, I bought a used PA14 several months ago and am really happy with it so far but it does lack a few things. I wanted a seat that would raise up and swivel. Couldn't find one anywhere so I made my own. Still have some more work to do and more testing but am pretty happy with the results. Pontoons might be a necessity so I'm working on those as well. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks

Rick

Just stand up?

Very nice I like. That seat up that high would be great for lake fishing.

That's what's so nice about the PA...it has a lot of potential and it is universal.

Props, it looks great.

Still more to do

It collapses down to about 3" above the stock setup. Weighs about 18 lbs but I think I can shave a little more weight off.

Nice idea!

Looks Clean, I"m guessing the pontoons would be needed due to the high center of gravity when the chair is raised or swiveling? I've hear a lot of talk from anglers who cant access their rods,or Hobie bait tank from the seat of their P.A.'s, due to mobility issues. The mod defiantly fixes the mobility issue, keep on tinkering you"ll find something that works for you.

Nice design and workmanship. Engineer or machinist (or both)? Wondering if you ran any analysis to see how it will hold up under load? Seems like you could easily make it wider to reduce the loads from leaning side to side if that turns out to be an issue.

Still testing

Thanks again. Yes, I've been a machinist for years and have my own shop. When the seat is in the "up" position the center of gravity is higher so it is less stable. I made a setup for my neighbor as well and he's a big guy so after we take these out a few more times I'll take the units apart and see if there are any wear points or mods that need to be done.
