The coloring looks like that of a sculpin, but its way too fat to be one.

WildernessWanker 04-12-2014 08:46 PM

X2 Sculpin. I'd say that based on the fins, the coloring, and coming off the bottom at that depth Sculpin would be my guess.

angler!@ I've kept many in my aquarium. Those fins are like legs they walk/scoot with them.

I can't remember seeing a fish with ears before, sure is weird.

CheapPelican 04-12-2014 08:52 PM

How'd it taste?

dorado50 04-12-2014 09:01 PM

Another angle

Didn't see any teeth and was very "mushy" to the touch. Fish sent back to bottom and released unharmed? I hope.

No way! Pulled something that looked Like this in the water in 250 feet water while fishing for lingcod. It broke off once it surfaced. No one could tell what it was but it pulled hard.
