How do you store your kayak? Let's see some pics.
 

My kayak will be stored in the garage, but summer time temperatures can warm my garage into the 90-100 degree range. I guess that's what I get living in Lakeside. I know that you can't sit them flat on the floor. I was thinking to creat a PVC kayak stand and flip it up side down to avoid deforming the planing surface. Your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Customer service was good. You can buy and extender to raise the boat up to either acccomdate a 3rd boat or lay a piece of play on the "U" for storage. Also, you can have heavy-duty casters for rollin' 'em out of the garage.

Along with free-standing units, they have arms you can use with wall studs. There's a good range of pix on their site for ideas for your own "strappage." Also, see some other threads here and at Hobiecat's main site forum.

Some yakkers have had good luck with slings/pulleys.

I also live in the Lakeside area and all I have done for years is to just lean my yak on its side in the garage. Have never had any problems with it losing it's shape or warping or anything.

Good to know. I read the X Factors owners manual and it got me worrying about how to store it. I also read that people who used pulley systems also had deformation due to the straps being to far apart or to far in causing flex in the hull. I guess I have too much time on my hands since I am still waiting for my kayak to be made. I have almost 50 posts, all my accessories and no desert camo xFactor. I need to start fishing.

This rack is what I'll be using to hoist my new PA14 up into the rafters:

Racor Heavy Lift

It has a 250 pound capacity, so I'll put a half sheet of plywood down with 2" PVC pipe to fit the PA channels just right. No straps and no worries of any chafing or deformation. There should still be enough room on the platform to also store all the crap that goes along with having a fishing kayak...

I don't recommend the Harbor Freight pulleys though, they are junk.

Harbor freight work stand... Cost 20 bucks and is adjustable and pretty stable. Anybody else have pics of how they store their PA?

How much weight will that hold? I just bought PVC to make the classic folding stand. I may cheat and get the HF version. It will save me about $15 bucks.

Says 200lbs... It's stable with my kayak and gear on it

Time to return the 30 feet of PVC with connectors and make a HF run. I have the 20% off coupon, so I am good to go.

Looks like they make a 500 pound version for $24.95
 

With coupon I can get it for 20. It uses 1 and 1/8 inch tubing instead of 3/4 inch.

I bought it in the store. I didn't know they had a bigger one, but this one seems to do the trick. Can't beat the price. It's also adjustable so you can form the width to your kayak.
