Congrats and welcome to the madness.
What did you get? You need to post some "yak-porn" we're all addicts here.

If you bought the green Stealth 12 congratulations. A nice steardy yak for sure. I have one as well. First thing is make sure you get a nice comfy seat and back rest because otherwise you will need a good Chiropractor. And if you are over 40 a good chiropractor wont even help as in my case. And second don't forget your seat at home like I did yesterday, damn my back still hurts!

Get out to the bays or harbors and build your stamina and work on water experience, paddling, Launching and balance.

Leash everything down that you don't want to lose. Then narrow down your gear to what you really need and get rid of the stuff you don't need. It will start comming to you after a few trips.

But remember...Never forget your seat! :stupid:

I'm in Bonita. Let's see if we can hook up and fish Pepper Park. The bay is a nice place to get some action in and get used to the yak, dial in the fishfinder, see how she drifts, etc...

Yeah i got the lime green stealth 12, came with everything but the finder, but ill pick one up here in the coming weeks. Definately want to get out there and make my mistakes before i load her up and head to La Jolla, glad i ddint make it out there this weekend, a buddie of mine was pressuring me into going but i didnt get back into town until 1130 lastnight, hell almost lost her on the freeway due to a faulty ratchet strap. Looking forward to getting out there and meeting some of you fine folks and dont worry Dirty Curti, i wont forget my seat. thanks for all teh fine tips :you_rock: :cheers1:

I keep all my gear in a large Rubbermaid type container with a lid. Keeps me from forgetting any of the little things.

This is what I do too. Works great for me. A fish trip checklist and a bug trip checklist. Although I have left the batteries that were being charged on the washer a couple of times and they're on the fricken list.
