Head lamp and I would suggest putting a Scotty mount light on your yak. Most of the guys out at night have a tall one in the back and a short one in the front.

how much would one of those tall lights run? would I be ok with just a head lamp and some sort of indicator light?

and at Mike......my fav kind of lites :luxhello:

I think a tall light in the back is a must for night fishing, with just a head lamp in the front is dangerous, those big boat maybe can't see you behind you in the dark.

Something like this should be fine.

I use one glow stick .....
clip it to rod.. then ditch in the hull when sun comes up...

less is better for the most part...

Legally a kayak is concidered a "vessel under oar" and requires 1 white light about the craft. That and a head lamp and your good. Mike

With 3 x 400W HPS you get a lot more coverage, less intense heat, and....oh wait, thats right, wrong forum. :D

I use a PB transom light out back, complete with stainless mount...I also have custom LED's about the deck controlled by a rocker switch.
