San Clemente

This questioned is geared more towards the guys that have fished this island.

What plastics/irons worked best for you?

Tady 45 Blue & White. Seek Bary Brightenburg for info on the plastics.

All your typical irons. I have had good luck with slugs for the grumpy calico, ones in brown and also red. Besides that all your typical swimbaits you use at the kelp inshore here.

If you are not familiar with the slug check out these links

x2 on the slugs. Nothing better than surface action.

If you pick up a couple, bring super glue with you. That way you can make them last alot longer.

for the calicos at SCI, I would just stick to the surface irons around the boilers, you usually won't have any problem getting them to hit even the larger 6x/7x type plugs...plastics just get beat up. but if you must use them than the superglue works wonders.
